Tory majority slashed
Swing to Labour continues as Lib Dem vote collapses
The Tory majority has fallen from just under 4,000 to just over 2,000 as Labour vote holds firm in a reduced poll. The Tory vote fell by more than 2,000 while the Lib Dem vote was reduced by a third.In percentage terms, there was a swing from Conservative to Labour of 2.7% and from Liberal Democrat to Labour of 11.6% - all against the national trend.

Jean Butcher takes Canterbury Central
Jean took the KCC seat Canterbury Central, formerly held by the Lib Dems in a closely fought three-way contest.
In Canturbury East, Labour's John Derrick finished only 15 votes behind the Tory who took the seat from the Lib Dems.
