Biography
Val is a retired Headteacher and former Magistrate in East Kent where she specialised in Family Courts. She was an Advisor Head for Kent and has moved to Whitstable in 2004.
During her professional career Val represented represented Headteachers on Government Working Parties and in representing local views to the Council. She was a headteacher of two schools before being asked to support and develop failing schools in the South London and Kent.
She was elected to Canterbury City Council in 2019 as a representative for Gorrell ward with Chris Cornell and George Caffrey.
Val chairs the Decision Review Committee and sits on the Whitstable Forum, Policy & Resources and Licensing Committees in addition to full council.
